Voice Performance in Julie Wyman’s The Tallest Dwarf
I contributed voice performance to Julie Wyman’s documentary The Tallest Dwarf (2025), an exploration of dwarfism, disability, identity, representation, and belonging.
I perform the voice of John Wasmuth, the UC Irvine genetic researcher whose team helped identify the gene associated with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism, in 1994. Wasmuth later became deeply concerned about how genetic discoveries like these might be used, particularly in prenatal screening and reproductive decision-making.
It was a poignant role, and I’m very glad to have been part of the film.
The Tallest Dwarf premiered at SXSW in 2025 and later received an Honorable Mention for Best Documentary Feature at the 2025 Three Rivers Film Festival and an Unstoppable Feature Grand Jury Prize Honorable Mention at the 2026 Slamdance Film Festival. It premiered on PBS’s Independent Lens in April 2026.
